Privacy Policy

QBeam ("the App") is developed and published by Roberts Digital Apps LLC under the Rye Labs brand. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use QBeam on iOS or Android.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers
• We do not track your location
• We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or crash reporting services
• We do not sell or share your data with any third parties
• We do not upload the content of codes you scan or generate
• We do not require an account or login of any kind

2. Camera Access

Purpose: The camera is used solely for real-time QR code and barcode scanning.

Storage: No camera images or video are stored or transmitted. The camera is only active while you are on the Scan screen.

3. Photo Library Access

Purpose: If you use the "Scan from Photo" feature, the App reads a single image you select to detect a QR code.

Storage: The selected image is processed entirely on-device in real time. No photos are stored by the App or sent anywhere.

4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following is stored only on your device using local storage:

• Your scan and generation history
• Your premium unlock status
• Terms of Use acceptance

This data is never sent to our servers. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes it.

5. URL Safety Check

No scanned URL is transmitted outside your device as part of the safety check. The entire analysis runs on-device.

6. In-App Purchases

QBeam offers a one-time premium upgrade at $2.99 processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android).

• Apple App Store (iOS): Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We receive only a confirmation of a successful transaction — no payment details are shared with us. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play (Android): Handled by Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or any payment information.

7. Third-Party Services

The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external dependency is:

• Google ML Kit (Android): Used on-device for barcode scanning. No data is sent to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple Vision Framework (iOS): Used on-device for barcode scanning. No data is sent to Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

QBeam is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no personal data, there is no risk to children's privacy. The App complies with COPPA.

9. Your Rights

Since we collect no personal information, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete from our servers. You control all data on your device:

• Clear History: Available in app Settings → History → Clear All History
• Remove All Data: Uninstall the App

Residents of California (CCPA), the European Union (GDPR), and other jurisdictions have the right to know what data we hold. We hold none.

10. Disclaimer of Liability for Scanned Content

QBeam reads and displays content encoded in QR codes and barcodes created by third parties entirely outside our control. We are not responsible for the content, legality, accuracy, or safety of any data encoded in codes you scan. You scan codes at your own risk.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
