Privacy Policy

PDF Forge ("the App") is developed and published by Roberts Digital Apps LLC under the Rye Labs brand. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use PDF Forge on iOS.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers
• We do not track your location
• We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or crash reporting services
• We do not sell or share your data with any third parties
• We do not upload, transmit, or process your PDF files on any server
• We do not require an account or login of any kind
• The App makes no network requests — it works fully offline

2. Photo Library Access

Purpose (read): When you use the Images → PDF tool, the App reads photos you select from your library to combine them into a PDF. You initiate this action explicitly each time.

Purpose (write): When you use the PDF → Images tool, the App can save the exported page images to your photo library if you choose to.

Storage: No photos are stored by the App beyond the current session, and none are transmitted anywhere. Access occurs only when you actively use these tools.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following is stored only on your device:

• A list of recently processed files (filename, size, and local file path only)
• Processed PDF output files saved to your device's Documents folder

This data is never sent to our servers. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.

4. PDF Encryption

The Password tool encrypts PDFs using AES-256 (iOS). Passwords you enter are used solely to encrypt the file and are never stored by the App or transmitted anywhere.

5. On-Device OCR (iOS Only)

The OCR tool uses Apple's Vision framework to recognize text in scanned PDFs and embed a searchable text layer. This processing runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device machine learning. No document content is sent to Apple's servers or any other server.

6. Third-Party Services

The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. All PDF processing uses open-source libraries (pdf-lib) running entirely on your device. The only platform dependency is:

• Apple Vision Framework (iOS): Used on-device for OCR text recognition. No data is sent to Apple's servers as part of this feature. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy

PDF Forge is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no personal data, there is no risk to children's privacy. The App complies with COPPA.

8. Your Rights

Since we collect no personal information, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete from our servers. You control all data on your device:

• Clear Recent Files: Use the "Clear all" button on the Home screen
• Remove All App Data: Uninstall the App

Residents of California (CCPA), the European Union (GDPR), and other jurisdictions have the right to know what data we hold. We hold none.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
